A road sign welcomes careful drivers to Moscow, Scotland. Moscow in the county Ayrshire, is thought to be a missspelling of of ‘Moss-haw’ or ‘Moss-hall’ which was formally adopted in 1812 to mark Napoleon’s retreat from Moscow.
